Surgry went well according to what the Vascular Surgeon advised my wife,after surgery went to the Dialysis clinic they flushed the line and put the fittings on, wonerfull nurse there answered all the question about the cath and the drainage I had/ Lot of pain now when I cough and try to have a B/M, nusre told us about the stool softners I would need. Thanks to eveyone here at IHD you have made this journy a lot easier on me because of all the info here.

The pain tends to last about a week and makes it hard to try and straighten up , so you tend to walk bent over for a while ! Once everything starts healing inside the pain goes pretty quickly . Hope it gets better soon and just try to rest for now

Glad the surgery went OK As Kickstart has said, it will be painful for about a week then it well start to get better and within 3 weeks you should be pain free. Also just a word about the PD catheter, you'll forget it's there most of the time, there's no sense of discomfort, all you have to do is keep it clean and follow the hiegene routine rigourously. Keep us posted especially when you start PD training. Best of Luck
