When Len had to take renagel and pholso, he had a hard time taking them and the Neph said to crush them and mix with applesauce or pudding. When Len switch to fosrenol the same Neph suggested to he get flavoring and put a couple drops on pills. Len had stomach problems since his transplant and now takes reglan 4 times a day, they are horrible little bitter pills and the only way he can get them down is with chocolate milk. He says it works like a charm every time. Might be worth a try. Also, make sure that your pills can be crushed, I have notice that some of them say not to crush or open. I'd try the chocolate milk.

What have I started now. Not a quart of chocolate milk, just enough to get those darn pills down.

20? Good grief! I can manage about 6 of the giant Renagels at a time, and thought I was doing well with that.
Make the kids practice with m&m's - then it's fun and not a torture session while they are sick.

I've found if I take the fosrenol right before my first bite of whatever I'm going to eat, then my food takes away the flavor right away, and I get a treat for getting it down like a big girl.

I, too, have never had a problem with taking pills. Every once in a while my aspirin will stick on my tongue if I don't drink fast enough, but that is very rare. My husband has problems taking one at a time.
Is that one of the events at the Transplant Games? "Pill Swallowing"

At the grocery store today, I saw a gizmo called a pill crusher. Wonder if that might work.

Today's experience was interesting. I worked some odd hours and was there at the time I usually take my morning meds. Things were busy and I forgot to take them. It wasn't until 1PM standing in a "Target" parking lot that I realized my mistake. The diet coke I had been drinking was gone and there was nothing else available so I had to take them "dry". It was a fairly large handful but it had to be taken. When faced with having to do that I try to envision the pills as something else. Today it was a piece of lobster swimming in melted butter...it worked.
