We are into our second week of home dialysis with the NxStage system, very early in Sharon's treatment in center for hemo we began pushing her Neph about the NxStage system, he apparently looked into it and began pushing it's use in our centers (Puget Sound Kidney Center), we know he is on the board for the center and in time they announced they would start using it, we were lucky and have been the first to go through the training and use of it, today he came to our home along with the head nurse for home treatment to see how it was going, he brought along her records and looking at her latest test results was impressed with her improved results already, he said he would like to stop by a few more times in the future to see how we are progressing, and we would not have to go into his office monthly as a result, he said he would let us know a few days ahead so we will not be surprised and such, he visits the 3 centers several times a week and we are on the way to the northern one, so not much out his way, We are really impressed with his attitude and interest, Thanks doc!
9/29 - After I had Sharon hooked up and running last evening the phone rang and her Neph wondered if we would mind if he came out and see how she is doing, we welcomed his visit and he was again impressed with her progress, gave us some good hints on our struggle to lower her Prednisone med's (going to try 3.5 mg one day, 7 mg the next, then taper on the same type schedule every 6 weeks, he says he has had good results with some patients getting the Adrenals to wake up this way), were really impressed that he wanted to fight the horrible North Seattle Friday night traffic just to visit our home. again - Thanks Doc!
