I am a 32 year old female who lives in Phoenix Arizona.  I have two children and recently married a man after almost 4 years.  I knew I had Polycystic kidney disease when I was 21 and had high blood pressure, but cannot remember exactly when I was diagnosed.  My function is currently 55 percent.
My mom was on dialysis for four years and is now 5 months post transplant.  She is 56 years old.
I am interested in a support group that is positive, but real.  So many times I find that the reality of a kidney disease are not really talked about.  I hope I find that here.

I hope you find what you're looking for, Momoftwo!  We have a wonderful group here, you'll get your questions answered
a lot more honestly than from the medical profession, and sometimes more completely as well.  How's your mom doing so
far post transplant?  Did your neph give you any suggestions for slowing down the process?  Oh, and welcome!! :welcomesign;

 :waving; Hi Jenny,
Glad you found this site - there are lots of great people, and lots of good info and support too.
My dad had PKD, my sisters and brother do too. So far they've been able to keep their kidney function and do a good job of controlling their blood pressure.  Did your mom have a living donor? Best of luck to you and your family!

We are glad you found us, there is more information here that the library when it comes to kidneys and dialysis.

Lots of great advise and mostly positive. There is always a negative amongst positives but we try and get through them as best we can.

You seem upbeat and I hope you find what your looking for here. Remember we are always here for you.

Well if you want real things about dialysis, you have come to the right place.   There is very little sugar coating on what is said here about dialysis. Take a look around and join right in.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
