Hubby was a PD Person - I was 'support'

(I'm sharing this because I honestly think every person here - and their loved ones - could benefit. I wish I'd learned this years ago.)

“Earthing” is simply making bare skinned contact with the earth.

When I first heard about it 6 weeks ago, I had images of hippies hugging trees and singing Kumbaya  (I’m such a 60s child), but it’s not merely an emotional state: There’s amazing physiology that happens! Some of it happens immediately, some within minutes and some within days.

To help me understand as I was reading from the book, “Earthing: The Most Important Health Discovery Ever!” (by Clint Ober, Dr. Steve Sinatra and Martin Zucker), I drew a flow diagram (attached). [/img]

We are conductive and so is the earth. According to the book and the studies that back it up, when we make contact 3 things happen:
1. We become shielded from external voltages (like from Wi-fi, electric power lines, electronic devices) and many people have become sensitive to all this electrical ‘noise’. We are shielded immediately and only when grounded.
2. We align with the planet’s circadian rhythms, which brings our own biological rhythms and hormones like cortisol into balance, calming stress, tension and anxiety.
3. We receive electrons - right through the skin and into our entire body! This is the biggie to me because two important things happen:
   A. Red blood cells become negatively charged and repel each other so blood then flows and does its job much more easily.
   B. Chronic inflammation is calmed down. Our immune system relies on free electrons to stop the inflammation process, and if we don’t have enough, it’ll damage healthy cells to get them, perpetuating the inflammatory process. When inflammation eases, so does chronic pain and damage.

This all results in less pain, less damage, better sleep, better healing, calmer emotions.

For me, a basically healthy person, the first thing that happened was better sleep and arthritis pain just went away after the first night. When I over-do it in the yard – which is twice now - I’m not laid up nearly as long as before, and even though the muscles are strained, the pain is mild enough that I don’t need any painkillers. I’ve seen my toes become a healthy, wriggly pink color with flexibility again. When I get a headache, I can ease it in 30 minutes.  I’ve lost a few pounds. People comment on how healthy I look and how much color is in my face.

How much earth contact is needed? They say it totally depends on the person: Do they have chronic illness or damage? If so, the body will need lots of electrons. If the person has thick, sticky blood (common with heart and diabetic patients) the change is seen within an hour, but it goes back to ‘sticky’ in a few days without grounding. They say that at a minimum, a healthy person would benefit from two 30-minute sessions a day and for folks in chronic pain – use that pain as a guide and ground whenever there’s pain. Folks with severe conditions, like Lupus or M.S., try to ground for 16+ hours a day.

Because I’m an indoor person, I decided to get grounded when I sleep and when I’m at the computer or reading (anything stationary), and also when I’m doing yardwork. I bought a grounding pad (it’s a sheet of carbon with a wire that attaches to the grounding port of any outlet – or to a grounding rod outside) and some all-leather moccasins for yardwork. I probably don’t need this much grounding, but being stuck at home all the time with the pandemic, it’s just easy for me to do it – so why not? There’s no way to ‘overdose’ – wild animals are grounded 24/7 and so were humans before the invention of synthetic materials and high-rise buildings.

It’s not a drug, not a miracle-cure – it’s more like an essential nutrient.

The documentary https://youtu.be/44ddtR0XDVU (free on YouTube) or Short Film https://youtu.be/EcHEWH8Eh0Q (also free)
The book (which is also included when purchasing an earthing product) https://www.amazon.com/Earthing-Most-Important-Health-Discovery/dp/1591203740
EarthingInstitute.net has links to all the studies and much of  the information that’s in the book https://earthinginstitute.net/
Earthing.com is where products can be found (they can also be found at Amazon and there are competitors, too) but if you have access to a stone or concrete patio (even your garage floor if it’s not coated or painted) you can totally ground for free https://www.earthing.com

As my hubby would say, "Don't let what you can't do get in the way of what you can."
