safer at dialysis?

Trying to isolate myself but have to go to dialysis 4 times a week. from the hospitals front door i am obliged to wash my hands 3X (front door, then at elevator then when entering waiting room) then get temperature taken before being allowed into dialysis ward where upon i have to wash my hands once again then don a mask while undergoing treatment ,reverse the process when finished, am i safer going through this dialysis routine than just staying home?

Iwas thinking the discussion would address peoples concerns about breaking home isolation to go to dialysis and not whether or not one should go to dialysis, of course we have to continue dialysis.

Now is a good time to think about home dialysis, however, that takes time to set up, get a training schedule in place (which may be on hold while we are under a state of seige), show up at the clinic for 2 - 4 weeks to get trained and have a bit of experience before being cut loose.  Also, the home hemo nurses may not be making the required home visits (at the beginning of training and annually, at least at the center I used) out of biocaution.   Those already on home dialysis have one more reason to be happy with their decision.

I dont really have the space or the hygenic space to do home dialysis.

My personal opinion is that the dialysis center is not the clean wonderful place we think it is.  Flus and colds spread through them like wildfire no matter what we or the workers do to prevent it.  People come to dialysis when they are sick because they have to go, so bugs are introduced in them whether we want them or not to be there. I hear coughs throughout the place and if one person comes in sick, it usually runs through the place.  Coughs go from one area to another area, over into my area and then bam, I have it.  They do not bleach everything a patient touched in the place.  The scale is not wiped between patients, neither are waiting chairs or the chairs within the center.  I feel like they need to through a giant tub of bleach over the entire place, shake it a few times and really get it clean.  I wear a mask into the center and wear it throughout treatment.  Now we have to wear a mask anytime we go out.  We have fresher air now but have to breath through a mask.
