This bug is a psycho killer.  It could suck the life out of anyone with a weakened immune system, anyone undergoing an invasive procedure, or anyone with lines or tubes entering their body.  In other words, it could decimate the whole CKD population.

I read about this too and it is very very scary. They know that MRSA isn't just caught in hospitals anymore. It has jumped to spreading outside hospitals to communities. I know because I caught it several years ago. Now I fear that it won't be long that we start seeing Candida auris being spread too.

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.

Specialists are projecting a plague, with 700,00 deaths this year, increasing to 10 million per year, from drug-resistant microbes.

Do you have a source for this? That’s more dire than I’ve read.

Who has lower immunity, transplant recipients or dialysis patients?  For CKD patients in general, does immunity decrease in a linear fashion, in step with decreasing GFR?
