I have a hard time getting through the break between my Friday and Monday treatments, so skipping is not an option.  A transplant really isn't on my radar, so I'm not worried about compliancy issues, but I do hate the tired and puffy feeling I have come Sunday evening and Monday morning.  Getting to dialysis Monday evening is always a bit of a relief.  I even told my instructors not to worry too much if I am irritable or overly emotional on Mondays, as that is another of the lovely side effects caused by toxin buildup

Hi Riki I keep forgetting to ask what the reason is for not doing home-hemo?

Love,Cas

A couple of reasons.  First and formost would be that it's not offered here.  If it were, I don't have the space, and I've no one to put my needles in.  I can't do it myself because of my visual impairment.

Sme here Riki, only the visual impairment is I cannot watch needles. I turn my head the other way just to get a shot.

I do that too.. *G*

I'm actually legally blind.  I use a white mobility cane to get around, and after I graduate in May I'm going to start working on getting a guide dog.  I have retinal degeneration, and I'm losing my vision from the outside in, so though I may have trouble getting around, I can still see to read and use the computer or phone.
