Urinary tract infections.... again? Really?

Ok so I get these UTI's at least 2 or 3 times a year.... I've been told that people on HD are prone to getting UTIs due to the fact that we do not urinate, and therefore infections are more likely to happen. Usually as soon as I feel the first symptoms I use Ciproxin 250 (antibiotic) and within 3/4 days the situation is under control. The last time this happened Ciproxin became uneffective..and therefore I think I've become resistant to this antibiotic...  anybody else have this happen to them?

Not yet, but I'm sure it's in my future.  Antibiotic resistance is really a thing.

OK, possibly stupid idea.  Or a Brain Storm.

Treatment of a peritoneal infection is best done bby flooding the abdomen directly with antibiotics rather than an I.V.

Put the antibiotic directly on the source of the infection.

O.K.  Then why don't the Dr's slip in a cat and squirt/flood the urinary tract and bladder with an antibiotic solution?

Makes perfect sense to me.

But then just maybe some Dr's do.

Someone needs to ask.
