I'm a 'Guy'.  Sometimes we get confused easily.   I don't worry about it.  Things have a way of working out anyway.

Constipation is a problem that needs to be solved.

Soluable fiber (however it is spelt) may help.  Finding that which works for your individual system can be the problem.

Have you checked into some of the Chinese/import type of veggies that many of us don't normally include in our diets?  There are many veggies not 'locally' grown, some may be helpful.

We tend to eat what we learned to eat as children throughout our whole life.  Tastes don't change so much so we keep going back and getting the same old things over and over.

You may need to break that cycle, find other veggies that are more comparable with your system.

I Hope this can help.  If nothing else maybe give you ideas.

Definitely ask your dietician about the constipation issue.  I know that stool softeners are great for dialysis patients because they help with constipation but still let you absorb nutrients for food.  Laxatives, from what I understand, should not be used as an every day thing for dialysis patients because it keeps you from absorbing nutrients as well.  Certain ones can be used for temporary relief.  There are some great fiber tablets on the market, as well as probiotics.  Your dietician should be able to steer you towards what can work for you.
