If you are on disability due to dialysis my understanding is that Social Security will review your case at a given time frame to verify that you still qualify for disability benefits. I understand that they have two different forms that they may use to start the review. One is a short form CDR that is basically a 2 page post card and the second one is like a 12 page form requiring pretty much the same information you submitted when you first applied for benefits. I am curious as to how many have been through this process and which form did you get? The long form or the post card?

Don't quote me on this as I can easily be wrong.

I started SSD in 08.  I haven't had a review yet.  That I know of.

I all depends on the medical evidence, the medical records, Dr's statements, etc., as to the severity and permanency of the disability.

So I was, am, on SSD since 08 for multiple permanent injuries to both legs, both shoulders, and three seperate back injuries.  All with no possibility of improvement.

I started dialysis in 2013, still on SSD but I now have Medicare also.

I am not eligible for SSI, Medicade, or any of the other Federal or state assistance programs that I am aware of.

So it appears to me that my permanent disabilty is well establish and I have yet to be asked for any type of review.

Son, on the other hand, is on SSD for a mental issue.  Paranoid schizophrenic.  I suspect a certain amount of bi-polar tendencies but that's my opinion.  Son has reviews every few years.  Often ignoring the letters and actually has had benefits suspended until all the paperwork had been completed.   I doubt he will ever be 'normal' again.  Pharmicy still has not refined medications well enough to be both effective and non-debilitating.

If you are asked for a review be SURE to get all required evaluations updated and submitted.

Going through life tied to a chair!

I got both in the same year, at the same maybe 2 weeks apart.  I was so pissed.  They could simply call the dialysis center and ask if we still come 3 times a week or send in some home sheets.  This is such a waste of tax dollars.
