My name is abu tay. I have been on dialysis for 8 yrs now. i have been a home patient for 4 yrs. I have 4 daughters and have been married for 13 years.

hello and welcome to this great site!!! hope u find it as helpful as i have.
i have had many questions answered here and people are very helpful.
u have been on dialysis a long time...i have only been on it for 3 months and
i have alot to learn.  :welcomesign;

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

1983 high proteinloss in urine, chemo, stroke,coma, dialysis
1984 double nephrectomy
1985 transplant from dad
1998 lost dads kidney, start PD
2003 peritineum burst, back to hemo
2012 start Nxstage home hemo
2020 start Gambro AK96

       still on waitinglist, still ok I think

Welcome, abu tay! (your name makes  me think of "a beauty"...) Wow, home dialysis for 4 years! My husband has been doing home-hemo for about 14 months and he's doing fantastic. Hope you are, too. You're definitely an inspiration (I say that about my husband, too). I love reading about the experiences you more-experienced people have so hope to see you post here often!

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.
