Any way to boost hemoglobin naturally?

Good evening! 

I seem to remember a post talking about ways of impulsing hemoglobin naturally,  unfortunately I don't seem to find it anymore.

I would like to ask any of you, if you're familiar with any veggie, or supplement that helps boost the hemoglobin naturally?

I appreciate infinitely any help on this matter!

I've had trouble with low hematocrit levels and I get IV iron injections and epogen shots twice a month. I also had my Vitamin D levels checked and found they were low. Vitamin D isn't usually considered as a culprit for anemia, but it can contribute to it. My old doctor was reluctant to check my Vitamin B, particularly folic acid, levels, and I'm determined to push for a test on Monday when I see my new doctor. Also keep an eye on Vitamin C.

I wouldn't rely solely on any dietary change to increase your hemoglobin levels. After you start dialysis, it's even more difficult to get all the necessary nutrients from diet alone. Plus, your kidneys possibly aren't producing enough hormones to create new red blood cells no matter what you eat.

I was admitted to hospital with severe anaemia and was given at first an iron-infusion (Venofer... sp?)

and over the coming weeks 5 Epo (Micera... sp?) injections...

The medical explanation for "my" severe anaemia was, that it happened because of my ESRF with 5 % kidney funciton and no dialysis yet ...

... After coming home I continued with my (very strict) kidney friendly vegetarian diet, my exercises and my daily walks

but I have not needed any Epo injections ever since and my blood results are "back to normal" again "in that department" ...

This has made me wonder: how come that my blood results have come back again as normal  (except for my high Creatinine and high Urea/Bun),

if "my" anaemia was due to my failing kidney function? ...  And how come that I suddenly don't need any more Epo-injections,

but my Creatinine/Urea shows clearnly that I am in ESRF with a 5 % function and not yet on dialysis?

Iron infusions can have fairly long lasting effects in some patients. That may be what is ocurring.
