I was so shocked on March 26 at 5:30 am when I got a call for a new kidney and again, was a 6 out of 6 match!   :bow;  Feeling so blessed!  My polycystic kidneys were so huge they had to remove them both to place the new one in, which is in my peritoneal cavity instead of the usual way on the outside of it.  It was done on March 27.  I was in for 13 days and have been running back and forth to Chicago ever since for Plasmapheresis treatments and blood work.  I am high risk and today have a nurse coming for 6 - 8 hrs. to give me an IVIG treatment to stop Antibodies from attacking my new kidney. Doing PT at home as well.  My creatinine level went up a bit so they gave me some injections to make the antibodies go after those instead of the kidney but if that doesn't work they are going to remove my spleen!  They also said sometimes they like to tie off the fistula because it's not good to have so much blood flow like that going to the heart.  Just not healthy! So we shall see what happens next.  I am still very weak and shaky, but the exercises seem to help with it. Hoping I will be able to break through it all.  I do believe it is the anti-rejection drug that is time released called Astagraph. It does cause weakness but will stick with it.  Losing weight as well which is a blessing as well.  Many blessings to you all in getting a kidney and feeling well.

Dailysis patient for since 1999 and still kicking it strong.  I was called for a transplant but could not get it due to damage veins from extremely high blood pressure.  Have it under control now, on NxStage System but will receive dailysis for the rest of my life.  Does life sucks because of this.  ABOLUTELY NOT!  Life is what you make it good, bad, sick, or healthy.  Praise God I'm still functioning as a normal person just have to take extra steps.

Congrats and best of luck!  I hope you are feeling much better soon!  You've really been through a lot, and I'm hoping your reward will be a smoothly functioning kidney very soon!

Going through life tied to a chair!

What a blessing.  Prayers to your new kidney and to the family who saw through the fog of their own tragedy to give the gift.

If it was a 6/6 match why is it reacting so much?  I guess they really don't know.  God Bless!  May you have it for many many years.

              :pray;
