Freaking out here - Rob has blood in his urine

Hello! I haven't been on here for a long time, but have many of you as friends in Facebook.
Rob had a kidney transplant over 3 years ago, donated by a friend. He hasn't had many issues, just tested positive for BK virus twice, but was treated and cleared right away each time. His creatinine has been a steady 1.0/1.1/1.2.
Yesterday morning, he noticed a tinge of red/purple in his urine. He thought it was from his purple Gatorade as it has done that in the past. However, the color got increasingly darker. He doesn't have a temp, soreness/tenderness in kidney and no painful urination. He called his transplant clinic and they said to come in today for lab work and to see his doctor. They weren't too concerned (but we were). This morning he gets his labs done and see's his Kidney Dr. She was very upset that they didn't have him come in yesterday and that they weren't concerned, because she is. He is going for a CT Scan now to see what is going on and most likely a biopsy.
I am so scared! Has anyone had this issue?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would wait for labs, not do a biopsy unless there's a good reason. Hope all turns out fine!

Could be something, could be nothing. Wait for the lab results. Ask a lot of questions to find out if the biopsy is truly necessary. Couple of thoughts. Does he still have his original kidneys? You can also have a UTI without symptoms. And maybe have a doc check out the possibility of prostatitis. Try to stay calm and not panic yet.

We are still waiting for the team to get back to him. The color in his urine is getting better. No biopsy until we know what is going on. The waiting sucks!
He still has both of his old kidneys, his new kidney is below stomach, closer to the groin area.
Hopefully we find out soon!!!!

Rob had to call twice to get an answer (talk about frustrating!) But thankfully his kidney is OK!!!! Labs are great, creatinine is at .97 WOOHOO!!!!
They feel it is a kidney stone. 3 months after his transplant, they found it on a CT Scan and didn't want to do anything about it if not necessary. Well, I guess after 3 1/2 years the sucker is causing some havoc. His Dr. is setting him up with a Urologist at his hospital to see if they can blast it or let nature take it's course. He doesn't want the nature part, he knows it will hurt!
We are sooo relieved! Just wish his Dr. would have contacted him and not the other way around. He's at Mass General and it's a crazy house their due to Secretary of State John Kerry's wife being treated there.
Thank you all so much!
