These cases are going to be a cash cow for attorneys lucky enough to land the clients, and the scramble has begun.   Once I started doing google searching and web browsing on dialysis, the paid ads started to pop up featuring "Injured by dialysis, contact XYZ law firm".

If you are unfortunate enough to be one of these patients, choose your attorney carefully - and remember, you are in the driver's seat, as you represent many thousands in contingency fees and will have a wide variety of law firms interested in your case  Do your research and choose carefully.

Best advice:  NEGOTIATE if you have a case.  If you have a case, its a winner.  The lawyers who troll for these cases know that.  Tell them you'll pay them 20% of the net recovery and no more.  Guess what?  If they took the case on referral from another attorney, they'd pay that lawyer a referral fee of about one third of the total fee, so that's where the 20% comes from.

I'll make no friends in the lawyer business, but this is the truth.  Hey, I just retired from the personal injury litigation business.
