After dialysis if i put pressure on any limb it starts to fall asleep...that tingling feeling you get? I mean right away, not after awhile...right away. This goes on for the whole day until evening and then it stops. What is that!!??

I'm on PD and have the tingling feeling in my feet and right hand all the time. Sometimes stronger than others, but for the most part all the time. I wondered if it was just me and being dehydrated most the time. Grumpy that might be your problem too - after the session you get dehydrated and don't know it.

I don't know but I researched it on the net and found that when they shift around all our toxins and take them out, our nerve endings are kinds like "oh wow!" and that is what we feel. Weird.

mamagemini - good point, I was wondering that too. Beside taking too much fluid off, if there was a build up of toxins that didn't get flushed with the exchange, would that do it? Interesting....

My husband basically now has now feeling from about halfway below his knees to his feet. He is not diabetic. This started right after he started on hemo. Has been to a neurologist who basically says it's peripheral neuropathy due to his renal failure.
He is convinced that the pump speed was too high while he was on hemo in hospital. I personally don't think so becuase it has gotten worse since he's been at home and we use a fairly slow pump speed.
His neph says that it is from toxins not being cleared adequately, especially from his legs. He has a lot of fluid retention in his legs even when he's at his dry weight, varicose veins. He also doesn't move around that much - chicken and egg thing, it's harder to walk and do stuff when you can't feel your feet, but you should do stuff so it doesn't get worse.
Be sure to mention it to your neph. Hubby's is permanent, there is absolutely nothing that can be done about to correct the nerve damage that's been done.

Sounding like Neuropathy issue, I hate telling suggesting another Doctors visit, but you might need to have it checked.
