The blunt needles come with scab pickers in the package. A suggestion too is to put some neosporin on the scab site on your off days it will make them easier to pick. Good luck.

Thanx Mightymike, I'll get that too. At the moment I use antibac elastoplast with silver in it. But I'll get neosporin too.

Tatataraaa ha, a little triumph to be celebrated. The right needles were delivered yesterday, just before my session.
Yes sometimes it works to be a pain in the but, and get very angry, and call the medical secretaries to ask what the name is of the Medical Director
So I used the blunts, one was a doodle, the top one not.
But Monday we'll try again. But really...... BH are an improvement so I'm just hoping to never get an infection.
That reminds me to find the pages about BH cleaning so I can show the staff, cos to me (after everything I've read, and seen on the net) is that they are asking for trouble.
Can't wait to get my Nxstage, and get out of there.

Yes happy days are coming (touch wood
) Yesterday after taping my needles a shadow fell over me. It was the HH nurse who informed me I would start Nxstage training the 23'!!!
I had to sign a few papers to give consent for delivery materials etc, and med.info. He went to check the house situation (hubby was home) and that's okay apparently
. Oh and they start me on 5 days for 3 hours, and may adjust later.
Ha, am I happy or what. No more techs I have to check on their gloves. No more machine checks. Time for a rum and coke

Well, the electric extra special thingy has been installed this morning (the eleccy man did take hubbies hammer, so he's not pleased about that, but its only a hammer), the plumber comes tomorrow.
More rum and coke.

Tatatataaaa today was training in Aintree day 1. Cos I had my last day in centre yesterdayevening I only did 2 hrs 15 as hubby had to work, which was great cos I was getting kinda bored without my normal entertainment. But the machine looked 'interesting', the instructor was friendly. But 'they' expect us to know it all within 2 weeks for some reason, so I'll watch the instruction DVD straight away, cos 2 weeks driving to Liverpool every day is motivation enough to make sure, I actually do know it all by than. Lovely though, and before Christmas

Today, day 3 went pretty well. I remembered the first couple of steps, and I start seeing the overall view of the workings of the machine now. Hubby took samples blood, and only managed to forget the arterial clamp once. The staff are pretty nice. Forgetfull but nice. I think we will manage it by next week.

So today I had day 8 of training, and I set up the machine: by myself, I connected myself, hooked up. Did have some alarms 50,51,52 and as they left me alone in the room I couldn't reach the instruction 'bible' thing, and the reaction of the ward nurses was: no I can't help you with that machine, so I asked them to find the instructor, so the
left me. So glad that, in theory
, I don't have to be there for quite a bit.
Anyways, machine is set up. Boxes are a pain. Not too many, like with APD, but you have to keep the big boxes
in case the machine needs returning
.
Tomorrow day off. Saturday first day. OMG I'm tired

Well session 1 went okay. Hubby more nervous than I was, but it's done, and I will have my day off tomorrow.
