I'm not really a poet. I've only ever really written poetry in the classroom when I've had to teach what is arguably my least favourite topic to teach. But for some strange reason, I just wrote the following. It doesn't rhyme, and is probably nonsense, but i wrote it anyway. I wrote it just because.

Just because I am strong, that doesn't mean you should try and break me.
Just because I am smart, that doesn't mean you should try and make me look like an idiot.
Just because I am well travelled, that isn't your cue to plan a trip to Mars.
Just because I like to wear nice clothes, doesn't mean I'm rich.
Just because I've made the decisions I've made in life, you shouldn't focus on the bad ones.
Just because I might have loved more than you have, you shouldn't try and crush me.
Just because I have a kidney disease, you should not dismiss me as a non event.
Just because I require dialysis three times a week, doesn't mean that I don't have a life.
Just because I have slowed down a little, doesn't mean that I have stopped living.
I am who I am and that is the best that I can be.

Mr Pink - Most of my favorite poems don't rhyme.  I like it.  Just because it tells me some things about you I didn't know before I read it, and just because it speaks to my heart as well as my mind.

Just because I don't understand doesn't mean I don't care.

Just because you never wrote poetry, doesn't mean this doesn't touch my heart.  Beautiful!!! :clap;

Dailysis patient for since 1999 and still kicking it strong.  I was called for a transplant but could not get it due to damage veins from extremely high blood pressure.  Have it under control now, on NxStage System but will receive dailysis for the rest of my life.  Does life sucks because of this.  ABOLUTELY NOT!  Life is what you make it good, bad, sick, or healthy.  Praise God I'm still functioning as a normal person just have to take extra steps.
