Alaska Cruise

I just wanted to share my expierence with crusing on PD.  I have seen several people wander if you could take the cycler on the cruise and it still work.  I want everyone to know YES you can.  My liberty cycler worked just fine on the boat every night for all 7 days even the one night that the ship was so rocky I  thought I was  gonna be sick. (motion sickness).  We traveled from Seattle and got on the boat there.  As far as food there are plenty of options to eat and not get sodium overload.  I did all the excrusions including meeting sled dogs and getting to ride on a sled.

So for anyone who thinks you can't cruise on PD or have to do manuals you don't.  As I have found fresenius and dialysis centers to me discourage travel with the machine but I have not let them stop me and have proved them wrong many times now that the cycler will work pretty much anywhere.

I second that, we went on the alaskan cruise in oct 2010, seattle - alaska - vancouver, it was the last alaskan cruise for the year.

I was on the baxter cycler at the time, but decided to do just manual exchanges on board the ship.  The bags were not initially delivered to the room, but after 1-2 hours it was delivered.  Reason why I didn't want to bring the cycler along was I didn't feel like lugging it on board the ship (I didn't feel comfortable having the ship's crew deliver it).

But it is definitely good to know that the cycler works well on board the ship

I've traveled all over with the cycler - not a problem at all.  Haven't taken a cruise yet, but that is in the planning stages now.   Grumpy
