Have anyone heard of using baby socks on the ends of a neck catheter tape together? To prevent rubbing up against the skin. One of the techs at my dialysis cener suggested this to my boyfriend & I.Right now,I'm not sure WHO to believe on WHY it has taken sooo long to have gotten my fistula check out.2day I got told by the team leader(head nurse)that she had TRIED several times to get my kidney doctor to do something when he was first told of them having problems inserting the needles into my fistula(right arm).Another kidney doctor came by & wanted to know WHO was my kidney doctor. This kidney doctor wanted to know WHY my fistula wasn't REPAIR any SOONER.2 of the techs & the team leader(head nurse) explain to this kidney doctor that they TRIED to have my fistula repair alot sooner.Thought I would share with everyone what had happened today at my dialysis session.Another patient ended up with a bloody mess to her arm. This patient is a friend of mine that is trying to get on the kidney transplant list. She started her set of hepatisis shots. That she needs to be able to get place on the kideny transplant list.

Yes, I have and used baby socks on John's Neck catheter and his PD catheter when he did PD.  They are gentle on the skin, and as long as it is sealed properly, it will not hurt anything.  It was a fantastic idea!

Good luck to your friend trying to get on list.  I hope she will get on it soon!

God Bless,
