Salt can make you really thirsty.  One way to mitigate the thirst is to drink water, gargle or swill it around in your mouth with your tongue, and spit it out.

Hey...how did my unit's nutritionist get into here??

Would you also like to give me a paper with a list of high phosphorus foods for the 463rd time because it is slightly elevated?

I have learned that every single thing in the world has a lot of phos. Try to take more binders if you can handle it. I feel like the phos is a losing battle. imo

The somewhat frustrating thing is that my "normal" phosphorus my entire life (including pre-ESRD) has always been slightly higher than the normal range.  When asked, every doctor ever to check into it has essentially said, "That's just the way some people are".

But no matter how many times I tell the dialysis units or the nutritionist/dieticians, it just goes in one ear and out the other.  I just get the standard "what high phos foods are you eating?" and "Are you taking your binders?" sort of questions.

And I am sorry about your lack of a sense of humor.

Your advice came off (to me, at least) as unsolicited and lecture-ish, much like we are often bombarded with by nutritionists and others in the medical field.

If someone elsewhere  asked for advice about this and you decided to start a whole new thread to respond to it, then you can understand why I had no context with which to take it.  Otherwise, I feel that it rates up there with someone starting a thread that just said, "Remember everyone, don't miss any of your treatments!".

After such a revealing light has been shined upon my soul, what choice have I but to slink off into the darkness to reflect upon my shortcomings and gargle some water...

Well played, sir, and lest I forget...
