So now that it's getting close to warm weather, I'm in the mood for smoothies for breakfast.  However, all of the smoothie recipes that I find have either dairy products (milk or yogurt), tofu, bananas or orange juice.  Ugh.  I don't feel like just berries and ice.  That won't do for a breakfast.

Anyone have any tried and true smoothie recipes that aren't phos or potassium bombs?

Thanks!   :thx;

Ensure Nepro has Smoothie recipes that are safe for dialysis patients. I never tried them tho, it was to much of a hassle to go shopping for the fruit at the time. ::) If I remember right, you basically freeze the Nepro (or close to freezing) and blend it with renal friendly fruits and such. If you sign up on Ensures website on the Nepro side, they do send you recipes in the mail.

Blend frozen berries with rice milk and a large spoonful (1 ounce) of thick Greek yogurt or the same amount of premium (Haagen-Dazs or similar) vanilla ice cream. Add some ice if you like it slushy. Alternatively, brew some coffee and put it in the freezer for 45 minutes, then blend with ice, flavored nondairy creamer, and the above yogurt or ice cream. To make it quicker, you can brew the coffee the night before and leave it in the fridge overnight.

1 ounce of Greek yogurt will have 40-50 mg each of potassium and phosphorus (varies by brand) and 1 ounce of premium ice cream will have about 30 mg of potassium and 45 mg of phosphorus.

Restorer  that sounds great, all I'm missing is rice milk.  I bought me some ice cream as a "treat" and we are having a heat wave today.
