BLISTERS?

I know as a result of D, that skin thins and can crack and be itchy... anyone else get blisters on their heels, toes, or other places??  I did my March of Dimes walk the other day, but lately if I wear and "closed" shoes I get blisters.  I have one on my pinkie toe (underneath) and two on my heels... they're not healing very well either... any ideas??

Are you retaining fluid or gaining weight? You may need to get bigger shoes. If not, one of the things that can help heal feet is Vicks Vaporub. Rub it on good and then put socks over it when you go to bed.

I have had the exact same problem since I bought a new pair of shoes a year ago.

I got a blister on one of my middle toes. It happened when I started walking on my treadmill.

I used a VERY small amount of polysporin to clear mine up and it did the trick. Don't use too much my foot doctor advised me cuz it can bring on infection.

He also gave me a toe foam to wear on on that toe now and I wear it all the time, you just slip it on and it works like a charm, I swear by it.

A consultation with a podiatrist would be invaluable , Laurie has a lot of problems with callouses and ulcers on his feet ( due to the arthritis and the way he walks ) . He has treatment from a podiatrist every two weeks - she is fabulous .

Thanks for the advice you guys... I'm wondering too... I was going to start a new post and I still may... about 6 years ago I was diagnosed with RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis), after being pregnant with my son it was in "remission" until about a month ago, I started noticing swelling in my ankles, and some joint pain, along with the sores on my feet, headaches, fever for no reason, etc.... I was worried about Lupus, because I started noticing a sensitivity to the sun too... I posted on here about a weird rash on my arm back in the summer last year.. my Rhuematologist at that time gave me a steroid injection and it disappeared... I didn't think anything of it at that time...

I got a call from my Rheumatologist today and he told me that my ANA was positive and there was a positive protein as well (which I've never had before)...he said there is a very very very probable chance that I have lupus, and I have to have some more blood tests tomorrow to confirm...

Is there anyone else here who has Lupus...also will this affect my chances of getting a transplant?  I know Lupus affects the kidneys... what are my treatment options?  I'm so bummed... everything was going so well, I've been stable on D for a year (Wednesday will be my one year anniversary on D), and now this... it seems like everytime I have good stuff going on for me, another disease comes up...
