Here is a nephrologist's blog that you might find interesting....

Thanks Moose Mon thats the reality. It is expensive for most.Places where it is cheaper adequate care is not taken so loads of patients die of varous dialysis borne infections.Ironicaly we pitch ourselves at medical tourism destination when we are not able to provide basic healthcare to our citizens

Aarti,  Thanks for sharing some of the dialysis situations in your country.  I think we all need to learn more of other areas and how they treat this disease.  I hope you continue to write and share more with us.   Does everyone have access to dialysis?  And are hard is it to get a transplant?  Does donating organs go against religious views?  As you can tell, I am very interested and want to learn more.

Well India and China are definately big if we speak of economy but the income divide is appaling.People with money can get best possible facilities but people without money cannot even get basic facilities...so when I speak on dialysis...we have state of art dialysis center being run in big cities where people can afford...but majority of India lives in villages....where either there is no facility or even of there is then there are no trained technicians ,medicines and huge hygeine issues.
As far as transplant is concerened religion is not an isssue but education and prejudice is .....people donate out of love so normay close relatives...cases of actual altruistic donation are very rare....
