So my long term disability insurance said I wasn't disabled and stopped paying me. I got a lawyer and sued. On Tuesday he told me we won. Today he tells me the settlement won't be much (and not what I need) because the insurance company says I will die soon anyway. Nice to know my life isn't worth much.

Are you getting Social Security Disability?  Sorry that they are being aholes! I have always said insurance companies are not going to be happy until we are all dead!!! Maybe the lawyer could consider not taking a cut of what you won?!?!

It sounds like the lawyer took a bad deal just to earn an easy fee.

He didn't take the deal yet. He's still trying. He just called to warn me why I was being lowballed.

Not going to live long? What a lame a :sir ken; excuse not to pay. That sounds like an instructor I had about my vision. He wanted a guarantee that my vision wouldn't change is like how can he guarantee his wouldn't change.

Then there's the people who have lived long on dialysis or who have had a transplant. Dialysis isn't a death sentence, although sometimes t sure did/does.

Insurance more interested in profits for the CEO's to take nice vacations and get big bonuses instead of doing the right thing that they are there fore.

I'm glad your lawyer is still fighting for you.  Good for him.
