Vitamin C is very important to fighting off disease.  It's also supposed to go through your system quickly.  But kidney patients are told to avoid it.  In fact, one guy I read about took 2,000 mg. per day and died from in it in two years.  I wonder if the new strains of Vitamin C that are more bio-available are less dangerous.  Does anyone know much about this?

I have PKD. After I found out when I was 19 that I had PKD, I was told by my neph to stay away from vitamins.  After starting D in 2010, I was put on Replavite.  Prior to that, I never took a vitamin.
