Potassium and Phosphorus Binder

Hi,
I'm at stage5 of kidney failure.  can I take potassium binder(calcium polystyrene sulphonate powder) and phosphorus binder(sevelamer carbonate 400mg) together?  Do they work well together?  any interactions between them?

In general, how do you take your potassium and phosphorous binders?

Please share your experiences.

  to the site. My husband has to take his phos binder sevelamer with food. Breakfast is toast so you don't need them, light lunch 2, snacks 1 and dinner 2  he gets through about 6 a day. he doesn't take a potassium binder. I would ask your pharmacist he would tell you whether you should take them together.. Hope this helped.

Not sure what fos binder he takes, but my renvela instructions to take the binder seperate from other meds, it states to wait at least an hour.
