Kickstart try mixing abt a teaspoon of baking soda in a small glass of water.  Drink it down all the one time - don't sip.  have a glass of something to drink after to wash it out of your throat. Always works for me!!

Aww, K.S.  I am sorry your feeling that pain, i had it about 2 months ago and i know exactly what your feeling  :thumbdown;   I, too, tried drinking all the soda possible to try and get that one good burp out and i think it made it worse  :-\  It lasted a couple of days but it eventually went away.  I hope you feel better soon and although Del's idea sounds disgusting, i am going to keep that remedy for if I ever get that again, it's worth a try  :2thumbsup;

Try to swallow hard 10 times, always works for me. Takes about 3-5 mins for burp to come up.

Stick your finger down your throat like you are going to throw up and usually a lot of air comes out.

Just spoken to gp , going to get some Lansaprazole , she thinks its the start of reflux !! I dont care what it is as long as it goes !!! Might be worth checking if anyone gets it , that its not wind and it could be reflux !

I know we are not supposed to have them (like so many other things that we eat and drink) :P   But have you thought of trying an alka seltzer?  My mom can't drink those in public cuz it gives her the burps  :twocents; :twocents;  :2thumbsup;

Bicarbonate of soda is SODIUM bicarbonate and 2 tablets of Alka-Seltzer contains 546 mg of sodium, so keep that in mind as you figure your sodium intake.
