I am an avid cook and have been trying to keep most of my bf's eating "in-house". It's much easier to control the renal diet that way. I have 40 years worth of recipes, some of which are obviously not appropriate, but some that I think can still be used. So I've been looking for a reliable program/website that will give me nutritional info for my recipes. Most will tell you calories or fat, but not phosphorus or potassium, or their analysis is contrary to the USDA. I've found "Living Cookbook" and it looks very cool, exactly what I need. Anyone have any experience with it or have a program they like?

I do not, but am certainly going to look into it now!  And feel free to share some of those recipes.  I am forever trying to figure out what to cook!

No I do not have that cookbook,  But I do have a cookbook called "Living Well on Dialysis: A cookbook for patients and their families".  Got some pretty delicious stuff in it. I never got in to the cooking, but have learned quite a bit!!

I have downloaded the trial version of Living Cookbook and it is very cool so far! I am looking forward to plugging in some recipes tomorrow.

lmunchkin - I had forgotten about that one! You can download it and recipes from it on the National Kidney Foundation website.

alewis328 - We have had some success with the recipes on DaVita.com and in a cookbook titled "The Renal Patient's Guide to Good Eating" by Judith A Curtis. My biggest complaints about both are the recipes are old/old-fashioned and use ingredients you can't find anymore, and some of the recipes are not well written. You have to be careful and read each recipe thoroughly before diving in.

Just wanted to put in an update for those who may be interested.

:thumbup;  Living Cookbook is very capable and powerful. All I wanted was somewhere that would analyze the nutrition of my recipes - including phosphorus. Not only does it do that, you can put what store you buy certain ingredients, costs and put together menus. You can specify what nutritional info is printed on your recipe in addition to putting any notes you may want on it. It will also give you Weight Watchers Points analysis. I will most likely buy this software. It's $35.
