Friends with techs after dialysis?

I moved to a new unit after ALOT of trouble with my old one, only 2 nurses who could stick me left, throwing me into getting 3 venagrams in 2 weeks because nobody could stick me, so i started a new unit and im happy to say ive had no issues so far and its been about 3 months. My inquery in this, the 2 nurses who could stick me, a 28 year old and a 21/22 year old, i still talk to daily and we talk about hanging out and theyre just my friends now with no relation to dialysis. Have any of you jsut become straight friends with your techs?

some do, some don't. I have a couple of my nurses on facebook. One of them lives up the street from me, and I went to school with her younger brother. Some say that it's not a good idea to have any kind of relationship with dialysis nurses/techs outside of the unit, but in some cases, like where I live, where the towns are small, so it's kind of hard to not know them outside the unit

Yup. I'm 2 years into my transplant, and still friends with one of my techs. Gotta work on a baby quilt for her soon.....

Yup and I know people who hang out with their current techs. I have a few hemo nurses on my Facebook as well.
I mean especially if you are no longer at that center, like who cares.
I know of a person who hangs out with his tech. Im sure it is ok. Especially if youare no longer there.
