Going through life tied to a chair!

There has been many posts on "Can A Nephrologist Force You To Dialyze More Often?"

So, let's discuss the opposite.  If you want to dialyze 4 times a week or maybe go up in time, can you do that or would insurance and Medicare disapprove the request?

Not that I "want" to dialyze any more than 3 days a week, but I wonder if you can?   :-\

;D Rerun, you well be getting the Nephrologists to force us to do 7 days a week next :o Don't give them ideas :-X
3 days a week for most of us, is MORE than enough :)

I have been coming off the machine up to 1 hour early lately, but on Tuesday I got the Pethidine late and fell Asleep (can you remember last time I fell asleep). One of the Nurses turned off the alarm ( >:( >:( >:() I was on the machine for 4 and a half hours. Instead of my 4. another reason why not to fall asleep on the machine, if there is a sneaky Nurse about >:(

I do not know why any patient would ask to go on dialysis 4 days a week, if they had no need to. At first I did try for two days a week. But after a few months may lab results where through the roof. I had a choice, but went on 3 days a week. I knew it would be better for me. Still would have preferred two days a week. Thats nearly 6 years ago now.

But if you want to Rerun, Go 4 your 4. I will send an e-mail and ask then for you ;D >:D >:D

Kevno,

I was just asking on your behalf, incase you wanted to extend the days.  ;D

I just wish they were open on Sundays so if I had fluid build up I could go one Sunday a month.  Plus, I guess my question was would they let us go more.  I think Medicare just wants to keep us alive.

once in a while I would request an extra half hour for a UF only if I felt like I had extra fluid on. That was a long time ago though and I almost never gain much fluid any way. I try very hard to keep it to 1kilo per day.  Lots of times I'm under even that amount. ;D :) but it's not easy. :P
