Here we go again

4 months ago my husband had an heart attack, they sorted it and put in another stent.he has gone down hill ever since and they can not find out what is going on. He has had :
x-rays
CT scans
MRI scans
endoscopy
He is tired all the while, breathless and his legs do not hold him up, no feeling below his knees and he has to walk with sticks.His weight keeps going down because his appetite is not good. I can not fault the nephs they are doing every thing they can to sort him. His dialysis is OK and his bloods are OK. Yesterday he had pains in his chest again and it was a paramedic and ambulance to A&E He is now in a renal ward being checked over, they say his potassium is low and the pains could be angina so we are now waiting for a cardiologist to see what the matter is.All this waiting for appointments takes time and he is getting worse. Next week we have to see a vascular specialist, that's if he is well enough. The knife edge is getting sharper, our daughter gets married in 8 weeks time and how it is at the moment I will be giving her away. Life is shi* at the moment.

It must be so tough, on all of you.  At least he's being kept an eye on and maybe now he's under 24 hour supervision at the hospital, they'll be able to run oodles of tests and find out precisely what's wrong so it can be dealt with. 

I'll keep everything crossed (oh yes, EVERYTHING) that he'll be more than able to walk your daughter up the aisle and enjoy the celebrations!

Hello, Billy, I am very sorry for you and your husband and I do hope
they diagnose what's wrong with him and treat him soon.
At least he is in the hospital and the chances are
that a diagnosis is found soon.

Thanks every one for your posts, Hubby should be out of hospital to-morrow, nothing has changed but they said the pains could have been caused because he stopped taking his blood thinner for 3 days, he is on Efient Prugrusal a new super thinner. We were told by a "DOCTOR" to stop taking these for 3 days before a neurological test, where they put needles in your muscles to see if your brain is receiving them. Suffice to say we will not be going for this procedure if this is what happens. You would have thought the DOCTOR would have consulted the cardio before doing this. It could have been a full blown heart attack, we are at their mercy. So next week we have a vascular appointment . Since being in the renal ward he has come across 2 people with the same thing. Their legs are not getting any blood to them, but they are also diabetic and  my husband is not. Once again thanks.

So here we go again, hubby came out of hospital Thursday evening and Monday he has got peritonitis. went to unit for antibiotics, that will be another week of visits to the unit. I don't  know how much more of this we can take, we are both exhausted.

Nurse phoned last night and his bloods from the sample are Ok and he has not got peritonitis, thank goodness.it must have been one of those things she said.

More good news, he went for a vascular test yesterday because his legs do not feel like they belong to him, he is having to use sticks. The test came up that he has strong pulses in both legs  so now we are being thrown to the nuero testing, I have said all along  its his Brain not working, not sending signals. LOL

rsudock, thanks for that and yes he has been on APD for the last 2 years and seems to be doing OK. Its just all this sh*t since he had his heart attack 4 months ago.Our daughter gets married in 6 weeks time so fingers crossed he will be able to give her away.

OK, so that's a little bit of progress.  It's often helpful to know what is NOT the problem.  But it all takes so much time to arrange for tests and what not, but in the meantime, hubby is still suffering.  What happens next, billybags?

Next we are off to have a neuro test where they stick pins in your muscles and I have told them he will not stop taking the blood thinner a gain, I do not want to end up in A & E with chest pains again, whether they will still do it I don't know. Can not get to see the cardiologist for weeks.

BB, girl you have been through it!  We just keep worring all the time for them, God, it never seems to End! Just hang in there with him.  Praying for you both!
