Important Information: Medical Needs, Rations & Questions

WHNT NEWS 19

HUNTSVILLE, AL

Do you have an urgent medical need?  Would you like to help as a medical volunteer?  Here are important phone numbers.

In the Huntsville area, trained medical volunteers should call (256) 427-5535.  You will be sent to the Harvest area.  They are looking for physicians, nurse practicioners, and nurses.

If you have a medical problem or medical need, you can call (256) 427-5534 or (256) 427-5525.

Any citizens needing emergency medical rations can go to First Baptist at 600 Governors Drive, Madison City Stadium on Celtic Drive, or Shell Food Mart at Highway 72 and Wall Triana.

If you have a dialysis need, please call Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), the nation's leading network of dialysis facilities. Any patient in need of dialysis treatment, regardless of their current provider, can call FMCNA's national hotline at 1-800-626-1297 for information about available local treatment. The hotline is staffed by customer service specialists who can provide locations and contact numbers for alternate facilities, if necessary.

Note: we are told most dialysis facilities have backup power and are operating now.  Please call your center first, to make sure.
