Hi everyone,

To my friends who I have come to know through your posts it's wonderful to see your names again and I look forward to catching up. I just wanted to update all of you. I had a major heart attack and had to have quintuple bypass surgery. I endured chest pain for about a year before my diagnosis. The docs would tell me everything is "fine". Not. Finally, the pain became intolerable so I sought help from a different hospital. I was hospitalized and had my bypass days later. My point is know your body and be persistant. I suffered my heart attack at home because I had a doctor who refused to listen. I learned a valueable lesson. I also have upcoming thyroid surgery. I have nodes and and as a precaution they are removing my thyroid. I am scared and am not looking forward to another scar but I am more than a scar. I do have good news I had a meeting with the transplant neurologist and he said that he probably wont see me next year I should have a kidney by then. I am also doing the kidney walk on May 14Th. I have much to be grateful for. for. Life is good.  :bow; :waving;

Oh, Angellady....so good to hear from you, but NOT glad about all you have been through.

Those scars? think of them as badges of victory!  :thumbup;

And that is great news about the likelihood of a transplant within the year.  :2thumbsup;

Glad to hear you are on the mend.  :thumbup;  It's good you listened to yourself and sought the help you needed.

Angellady, hope the tough times are behind you and fingers crossed for the transplant. I agree - knowing your own body is so important. And it is very hard to keep insisting that things are not right when the doctors are telling you everything's okay. But you just have to, or seek a second opinion, because you know yourself that something is wrong.
