Amtrak traveling

Has anyone done some long distance train travel on the Amtrak routes. 11 years ago before I started D I traveled on the Empire Builder(Chicago to Seattle), Coast Surfer(Seattle to Los Angeles), Sunset(Los Angeles to San Antonio) and finally the Texas Eagle(San Antonio to Chicago). This was done over a 4 week period stopping in Seattle and in Del Rio for a week. I've done several trips on the Texas Eagle while on D and the travel time is 2 days, I would do D before I leave and when I get there.. I love traveling by train as much as possible if I can. The scenery view is great from the train as well as the service the crew provides.
Since most the routes take at least 2 days that would mean stopping at a major city for an extra day for D.

We were going to try dialyzing on the train (sleeper with bathroom) but we ended up not taking that trip.
Bet Peckham has, if anyone!
