Liver transplant deaths at USC a puzzle

I thought anyone interested in transplants may want to read this article.
It's about liver transplants and the high death rate at USC in Los Angeles.
Since it's not directly kidney or dialysis related I am posting it here. The link

It does mention that some candidates were liver AND kidney recipients, and
I wonder how that affected who they chose (liver is prioritized by sickest but
kidney is by wait time)

It makes me SO glad we left USC earlier this year. Dr. Selby was our contact.
He oversaw the whole program, and he was not helpful with Jenna's quest to
find a living donor.
