Does anyone detect the smell of mold & mildew at their hemo-dialysis centers?

Nope, but then again mine is in a hospital ward, and is very clean. That sounds disturbing....

They mop up puddles of fluid with the blankets provided for the patients.

Our drains stink to high heaven.  They smell like human waste but yet not????  It is our toxins but it doesn't drain right.  They try bleaching but it still will get to smelling.

I haven't smelled any mold at my dialysis center.  I'm practically choking with the smells of the vinegar and Clorox they use though.

I wish I would smell clorox bleach instead of that smell of mold...they would use THE BLANKETS used by the patients to mop up "fluid"from the floor ,then sopping wet,put them in an open plastic bag,!!!!!!

Franky... this little trick worked in another center where the staff was rather lax....  take your cell phone in with you and pan around the room with it (as in taking video).  Then tell the staff or charge nurse that you are documenting the conditions for a possible local news story on the quality (or lack of) of care in the center.  Stop at each of the offending things (like the bag of wet blankets) as if you are taking still photos.  That might get their attention!

Best of luck to you.

I am with you RightSide.  That cleaning stuff burns my nose so bad, I put my blanket over my nose and mouth, so I don't gag.

But, at least it is clean!!

Many state health departments in the US will fine a health facility that has a mold overgrowth, as it's considered hazardous.  Your center cannot ignore mold.  As I said before, raise some hell about this!
