So my first dialysis was put off for anpther week because I feel pretty good.

i have been realtively symptom free... just a bit tired but aransep shots have brought my Hemogloben up.

I am waiting for a call from my neph but found out that my Creatnine is now 7.1.
I know that potassium, phosporus, co2 all play a part in the decision and do not have the latest #s of those yet.
I have PKD and no other complications....
What was your creatnine when you started D?
I ,of course , am not anxious to get started but do not want to wait until I am feeling ill to start.....

opinions or questions I should be asking the doctor at this point would be helpful...

Mine was 894 a week before I started dialysis. I'm in the UK and I've always had my creatine measured in hundreds so I'm not sure what it would be using the same scale as you.

Even with dialysis people run around 9.  Once you start dialysis they don't even look at creatinine anymore.  So if you feel good stay off.  Watch what you eat as far as potassium.  NO bananas.  When you start feeling bad and your doc has not called you.  You call HIM/HER.

Best of luck.

Mine was at 8%, we stayed off as long as I could, started to feel sick to my stomach and tired all the time.

Mine was 17... I was very ill and because my doctor didn't pick up on the symptoms and misdiagnosed me, we were unable to save the kidney which is why I'm on dialysis now.

Mine hovered around 6 for some time before I started. Then in the last month it shot up to 10. No question about my being ready for it then!

I started HD when my creatinine wasn't too bad: 5.5

But I decided to start HD anyway, because I was feeling so rotten:  Terrible itching, terrible bone pains, unable to think straight.

My creatinine was around 10 when I had my first PD catheter placed. Less than a month later I hadn't started yet and I was very sick and hospitalized, and my creatinine was around 13.

I had my fistula surgery when my creatinine was at about 8.....then in 1 month it shot up to 12....so I started HD immediately. I didn't really have any noticeable symptoms until my creatinine reached about 6....after that I just felt worse and worse...itching, unable to sleep, nausea, no apetite...etc etc.
