I won second place + $300 in an essay contest for the Renal Support Network on the subject of "Which song, book or movie has helped you deal with Chronic Kidney Disease?". I would love for you guys to check it out!  I found out about it on here a few months ago and decided to write something - glad I did!

Outstanding!  Congratulations on a really well written, lucid and thoughtful essay.  You captured well the feelings that many of us IHDers have felt...that fear, that lack of control and that uncertain future.  How cool that you got to meet the musician who wrote the lyrics, all based on experiences much like your own.  Thanks so much for sharing this with us, and again, congratulations!  Very well done!

I am not - I was getting sick too often and it's very hard for me to get to school AND bi-weekly Dr's appointments (I can't drive) so I work at home now :)  I'm a happy housewife and do online advertising on the side as well.

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.
