RI crash victim Keri O'Donnell: Teen girl organ donor for heart and kidney transplant (Video)

A North Providence teenager was killed Monday, July 12, when the minivan she was riding in blew a tire, ejecting all five passengers, and injuring the remaining four. Police say there didn't appear to be any alcohol involved and speed was not a factor, however, none of the passengers were wearing seat belts. The daughter of comedian Frank O'Donnell, Keri O'Donnell died as a result of the crash.
Heart and Kidney Transplants
Although this is was a horrific accident, and hearts go out to Keri's family, two good things came out of the tragedy. Keri O'Donnell gave two of her most precious gifts to two others in need.
According to the Providence Journal, "Fourteen-year-old Keri Anne O'Donnell's heart was transplanted into a child Tuesday and a kidney was transplanted into another person on Tuesday, according to her uncle Steven O'Donnell. 'It was a little solace,' O'Donnell said. 'Her mom is hoping that her eyes can be donated to someone so someday she can see her daughter's eyes,' O'Donnell said."
Keri Anne O'Donnell Dies in Rhode Island Car Accident
Keri Anne O'Donnell and four friends were on their way to a south county beach for a day of fun and sun, when the rear tire of the Honda Odyssey they were riding in blew out at approximately 9:45am near exit 4 in the southbound lane of Route 95 in Richmond, Rhode Island. The driver, Carissa Hagen, lost control of the vehicle which then rolled and crashed into the median.
