Going through life tied to a chair!

« on: November 26, 2006, 07:23:00 PM »

I keep learning new things as I go in the Chat Room.  Let's use this topic to help each other out if you find a way to make things easier.

I found that if you move the window box line up from the options and save boxes that it pulls up the conversation so you head isn't stuck at the bottom of the screen.

Hope this helps.   :cuddle;

If you want... you can open another window and go to IHD and just flip between IHD and the Chat Room.  Multi-Tasking... (Thanks Epoman)

Gotta go back, I left Jbeany all by herself.

If you're going to change the font size, it's best to do it right when you enter the room.  If you do it later, you need to adjust the window size in order to see the new posts as they come to the bottom of the page.

You can private message in the chat room by clicking on the user's name on the list to the right.

You can change the background theme in options.

You can change the color of your text in the little pull down window.  Some show up better than others.

Can anyone who knows how to do a screen capture demo some of this?

If you can't read someone's post because of the color.  Just highlight it and then you can read it.

If you want to add / change the tiny pic beside your name go to options and then to effects and then where it says avatars click in the 2 small boxes to make checkmarks and choose what ever pics in the drop down menus (see the attached pic).

Thanks Angie for some reason I could not figure that out on my own, I kept hitting the top button and not the bottom one.

Dialysischat.com is different than the chat on IHD. Just click the "chat" button right next to the "calendar" button. You won't have to log in as it is automatic.

Ya that confused me at first too Angela. I thought the chat button in the forums was the exact same chatroom as the one on dialysischat.com

Turns out they are 2 separate chatrooms but just the exact same program (confusing at first I know). See?
See the difference?

Originally I thought that both went to the same chatroom (like a redirection or something) so that everyone wanting to chat on Epoman's chat would be in the same room (and perhaps more people).

On the Forum page down at the bottom under Online Users there is Chat Users.  It shows who is in the chat room so you don't have to go in there.  But, It would be nice if you went in there and then opened another page to view the forum so if someone comes into chat they will see you there.

Ah yes as most of us multitask here ;)  :2thumbsup;

Do you mean you want the chatroom button to open the chatroom in a NEW window?  ???

You can right click on the button and select open in a new window :)  :2thumbsup;

Right now there are a bunch of people in!
