People keep telling me to excercise. Before I got sick I competed in triatholons and rode my bicycle 50-100 miles in a day. Now I am lucking if I can walk a mile. I miss swiming - with a PD catheter i cant do that either. Most days excercising seems impossible as i am always so damn tired!!

What about you all - what do you do to try to maintain your health??

You'll find plenty of threads about exercise here at IHD.
A couple of examples:

I've always enjoyed walking, so I still do that, though not as far nor as quickly as I used to.  It's gardening season, and my property is hilly, so I get a pretty good workout just hauling compost and digging up weeds.  In summer I swim most days, which is the one reason I will not be doing PD when it is time I go on dialysis.  I've given up too much already.

I also like light strength training.

I hate yoga as it gives me a massive headache.  Any exercise program that involves lying on a mat makes me sick.

My life has become quite ironic when it comes to exercise.  The longer I'm on Dialysis, the harder I fight to keep my strength and stamina up.  I also want to be in the best shape possible when a kidney finally arrives.  I do an hour and a half of cardio four times a week along with weight training, and hiking and bicycling.

I'm in the best shape of my life, but also the sickest I've ever been.

When it comes to Dialysis, you can never really win.  It usually comes down to a draw.

Well, I work full time at a 500 bed hospital where I push around a 350# machine.  When I get home I play Walk It Out on my Wii game or mow the grass or clean the house.  I am tired out of my mind most of the time, but I refuse to stop doing the things I must do.

I used to be able to do those things but I dont have the energy - MAYBE walk and mile or two and a slow pace and I probably could do some sit ups but there is no way i can work out 1.5 hours 4 times a week - tell me what is your secert??
