In da House.

« on: March 17, 2010, 04:25:26 PM »

I should be over the moon at the moment , ive got my move as you know in my other thread ! Why am i not ? Hemo is going crap ! My pain in my eye is getting worse and its ruining everything. On sat at D i was really ill , i crashed in the first 20 mins  :o and ended up on oxygen , then the pain in my neck started and so did the pain in my eye. I had to come off after 3 hours i was so bad. I then had the pain in my eye and neck all sat/sun/mon/tues and didnt get any sleep for 3 nights because of it , i couldnt keep any food down, the pain kept making me sick. I went back into D on tuesday and i was in agony. As you know im more often than not back in the big room now and the lights are just driving me crazy, i ask if they can put them down around me and they do ..but not for for an hour or so and by then the damage is done (or added too). I was being sick with the pain , i had to sit forward because my neck was locking up and of course that kept setting my machine alarming because of the blood flow. After the second hour i started to crash again and they just stopped it in time , but that was it , i couldnt take anymore for the pain. I begged them for help and the best they have done is they are going to speak to the neph about someone to look at my neck, but again it could take weeks ! I was so bad i had to come off again after 2 hours. I want to plan my move but all day yesterday i had this unbearable pain in my eye and neck again. Ive been to Opthomology and they cant find anything wrong with my eye , ive been refered to Neurology but told this can be months away. Ive begged them to let someone look at my neck as ive felt this is where the problem comes from , but my neph just dismissed me saying ..no way would it come from my neck! Im on muscle relaxant tablets and a gel to put on my neck to ease the pain , but they have vey little effect. Im worried cause i cant do my full four hours , but im more worried cause no one is doing anything fast !

I understand. They are slow. I'm still waiting on a new access and possibly a cath change do to my heart, and plus my old access keeps bleeding and they don't wanna do anything about it unless it gets infected! What a way to mess with the hemoglobin.
Do you know your nephs office number? I'd just keep bothering your medical team until something is done. That's what I'm doing.
Good luck,
Troy

Hi Kickstart:
I really have no idea as to what is causing your eye pain, but I also had the same problem and the pain
was horrible. I went to Opthomologist and he could find nothing wrong with the eye. The pain was particularly
severe when I bent over. To make a long story short the cause of the pain turned out to be a sinus problem.
Hard to believe a sinus problem could cause such severe eye pain, but it did. I was given some medication
(can't remember which one) and the pain was gone after a few days.
It might be worthwhile  to look into this as a cause (if you haven't already done so).

How about a nice massage?  Do you have chiropractors (back crackers) over there?
