Good Morning Beautiful People!

Please help me understand why I cannot sleep at night. This is what happens, and not just since dialysis, but for about 6 months before I started. I go to bed with anticipation of a fantastic sleep because I am exhausted. I lay there, tick tock, tick tock, tick, tick, tick,  :urcrazy; :stressed; :pray; :pray; :pray; :urcrazy; :urcrazy; :urcrazy; :bandance; :bandance; :urcrazy; :urcrazy; :cookie; :cookie; :cookie; :rant; :rant; :( :stressed;
THEN, it hits about 4:30 in the morning when my Fox and Friends comes on in Arizona...and then I am out like a light. I sleep until 10:30 a.m. and the day starts over again. Why is this happening? Im losing my flippin' mind!! I am a girl who needs sleep, I am not a nice, or happy person without it. It's not restless leg...I just can't figure it out. I swear those techs put something in my dialyzer.

Any thoughts?

Have a beautiful day!

Going through life tied to a chair!

I take a 1/2 pill of Benadryl.  It gets me to sleep but not groggy the next day.  If I take too much (a whole pill) I have an adverse reaction and am awake all night.

I don't do this every night.  Just a few nights to get me back on track.

You may want to ask your Dr. about this...

I know this won't really help you ms spicy, but

before D (for six-nine months prior to starting) I had sleeping problems because every two hours on the dot I'd wake up with a need to pee.. and of course little would come out. It would bug the CRAP out of me because it happened every night and always every two hours.. but during the DAY it wouldn't happen.. as in I wouldn't feel the need every two hours.

When D started bang.. I got my sleep back with no interuptions.

I don't know what to suggest other than some kind of sleeping pill or something. Have you discussed this with your neph? Maybe you need to indulge in activities that will tire you out prior to bed  >:D

I didn't sleep well  the entire 16 months I was on Dialysis. I would lay awake a night and finally end up on the couch watching TV until 5 AM when I had to get my kids up for school.  I can't take Ambien or Lunesta ( makes me do crazy stuff that I don't remember the next day) so my doc gave me Ativan (1mg) to relax me at bedtime and it really helped.
