I was wondering if it might be easier to self cannulate if you had a graft rather than a Fistula.

Bruce, I know there are folks here in IHD who do NxStage who have grafts, I'm replying in order to bump this up. My husband has a fistula, so I'm not qualified to answer.

Best wishes.

My husband has a graft and he self cannulates.  I don't know if it is easier or not though because he has never tried to do a fistula.

Other than not needing a tourniquet, I don't think so.  It's still an awkward, one-handed process, and the needles aren't any smaller!
