just got home...

:)Well I had op yesterday to take my pd tube out and have new one put it cos it wasn't draining properly (I have only been doing pd for about 8 weeks) and just got home a couple of hours ago which is sooo nice. Well stomach is def not as painful this time.
Bit worried because haven't been on dialysis since Monday night and think all my levels are going crazy!
Doc said I should wait, if I don't feel too bad, as if they start me on pd tonight it might not have healed, would leak and then id have to start hemo, which terrifies me. So am feeling bit worried about having a whole week without dialysis but I guess i just have to trust docs. Its just lovely to be home.
On a different note when the nurse came round with lunch today she said " ooh your a bit young to be on this ward aren't you?" I just said " yes unfortunately I am". Didn't really appreciate that comment!
Anyway hope everyone is doing ok, lots of love,
Lou xxx

wow lou, i hate that we have to "trust" at times, but we certainly do... Just make sure of how YOU feel, and then dont be afraid to be your own advocate.. ANd....isnt it amazing how "home" feels after you've been gone.. Geesh, i know! even though i do come home late at night when hubby hospitalized, it feels soooooo good when *we* get to come home, and stay a while... Glad your feeling ok, wish ya felt better, and hope for improvement soon!

Yup, love the "You're too young for this!" Such an idiotic thing to say!

Wow, I wish someone told me I was too young for the dialysis unit!! At my age looking too young for anything is good!
I'm sure the nurse did not mean it in a negative way.
