very very bad day

Very bad day today. Been doing pd for about 7 weeks but last few nights machine keeps alarming in night when its draining. Went into hospital today and nurse said my tube is blocked (protein on it or something?). She tried to flush it through but basically I have been told the whole thing needs to come out and a new one put in. I am completely gutted. Am going in Friday for the surgery. It was soooo painful last time. I am suppose to finish school on fri and have been counting down the days to having two weeks off. Happy bloody Chrismas!!!
SOOOOO gutted!!! Has this happened to anyone else out there?

yes that does suck.
Are you /they sure it isnt just fibrin? Do you see any coming out or in the bag in the mornings. if so that would be an easy fix with some heprin.
Sorry you have to go through this.

Lou, Sorry to hear about your tube, its a shi**er. We have a similar problem, not draining properly, husband is on CAPD, the first time he was on it he could complete an exchange in 30 min but since the new tube was fitted 2 months ago, it takes nearly an hour. He had an x-ray last week and they said his tube is too high and he is constipated. He has just gone to the hospital to pick up some
"picalax"
The thing is he is already taking 4 senokot and lactolose a day and he goes regular. I am really fed up and I am not the patient. I do hope you get this all sorted out before Christmas. I read in the press the other day that this is a crap year for most people due to the solar alignment. I believe that.

Thanks for all your messages. Had op yesterday and just got home about an hour ago which is sooo nice. Well stomach is def not as painful this time.
Bit worried because haven't been on dialysis since Monday night and think all my levels are going crazy!
Doc said I should wait, if I don't feel too bad, as if they start me on pd tonight it might not have healed, would leak and then id have to start hemo, which terrifies me. So am feeling bit worried about having a whole week without dialysis but I guess i just have to trust docs. Its just lovely to be home.
On a different note when the nurse came round with lunch today she said " ooh your a bit young to be on this ward aren't you?" I just said " yes unfortunately I am". Didn't really appreciate that comment!
Anyway hope everyone is doing ok, lots of love,
Lou xxx
