I met adam lambert for my make a wish!

« on: December 09, 2009, 02:02:48 PM »

Remember when I said the insurance covered my botox surgery for my bladder? Well I got it done, and we got the results back, and it didn't work.  >:(

There was minimal improvement. So, they're going to schedule the other surgery. The bladder enlargement surgery. I have to be in the hospital for a week, and I can't eat for 4 days after the surgery. I don't know if I can drink anything, either. I think it's only no eating. I wish I could just sleep those four days, but I'm going to need dialysis, so they won't let me sleep. I just hope that if they need to cut me open, they use the scar on my stomach, that's already there. I don't feel like having another scar like that.

After this, I can finally be put as active on the list, though! That's the only good thing, about it.

Jenna had the bladder enlargement surgery 4 years ago. It was 10 days in the hospital, and no food for 4. They used bowel material to augment the bladder, but nowadays they often grow the new bladder tissue from a patient's own cells. How will they be doing yours? Jenna's has worked great, and once her bladder was larger and would no longer damage a new kidney, she was qualified for transplant. Hope all works out for you.

I think they are using my bowels. I'm not completely sure though. I'm going to see my doctor before they do the surgery, so he'll give me the details then.

I didn't remember if it was 7 or 10 days. It's probably 10 days. =[

Hanify- That's what I keep telling myself! I'm trying to be positive, but I just don't want this done! Also, we have to see my doctor before we have the surgery, so hopefully I can be like a "test subject" for something else! I hope there is something else they can do besides this surgery.
