Keep Calm, Carry on.

« on: December 09, 2009, 01:27:07 AM »

Hi everyone!

Well I'm trying to make a small documentary, my main problem is finding people to be in it. Here is my fb post about it.

Anyways, Well of course most of you know my "great" talent for filmmaking. ha.

Well After going through a rough patch in my life, as many great writers and creative talents have... I came up with a brilliant outcome for it all.

After 20 years of surgeries and being a medical practice body.. I thought, I cannot be the only one with so many scars.. and stories. I know there are more!!

So my next idea, (there are two parts!..hooray!) I find that YouTube is a great outlet for my film creativity. Especially since I have found my love of filming random crap on my iPhone. So, I figure, I can put the two together. As a short documentary. But of course in order to make a film I need people. That's where you all come in.

I am looking for: people with scar(s).

it doesn't matter how or when you got your scar(s).. or how big/small they are. Whether you got your scar falling off your bike, or had major surgery. It doesn't matter whether you have one.. or 40.. All that matters is you have one. and there is something behind that scar, it can be love,hate,courage,bravery,scared... bad memories, good ones.. whatever you feel. Scars are a physical mark that has a memory. I want to share that memory. Some people feel ashamed of their scars, others proud.. and some a mixture of both. I want to show the world.. scars, along with their memories and feelings can be beautiful thing. It is not a flaw, it is grace that we did something, our bodies are marked with a memory, many times of pain. But we are still here. Please don't be ashamed to show your scars. If you want to change people's idea of someone scarred.. then you need to step up and show them.

So if you or someone you know who might be interested have any kind of scar from anything.. take an interest in this project.

So I really ask, if you are interested, please write back.

So I'm looking for some people, in the Boston/MA area willing to do this. If you email me back, I would give you the list of questions I would ask during our sit down.

Now, this isn't anything fancy or professional.. its just my way of trying to get people to change their opinion of scars, that its not a flaw.  If you have any questions.. please ask! I'm hoping renal patients will be more willing to do this!

Have a wonderful day!
